Lindsey Cobb appointed Lewis School Principal

 

Carbondale, Ill – On Thursday, January 23, 2025 the Carbondale Elementary School District #95 Board of Education unanimously approved the appointment of longtime district educator and current Carbondale Middle School Assistant Principal,  Lindsey Cobb, as Lewis Elementary School’s Principal.

Originally from Marion, Illinois, Cobb graduated from Marion High School and continued her college education at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education. Later, she earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Eastern Illinois University.  

Mrs. Cobb began her teaching career at Carbondale Middle School and taught at Lewis Elementary School for 9 years. More recently, she has been working as an Assistant Principal at Carbondale Middle School. During this time, she has built positive relationships with students, families, and staff. She has helped plan community events and worked diligently to help all students find success both in and out of the classroom environment. 

Cobb says, “I look forward to continuing to build positive relationships with students, families, and the Carbondale community. I am excited to continue the work that is already taking place at Lewis, by keeping our focus on students and families, supporting them both in and out of the school setting. I am grateful for this opportunity to serve Carbondale in this new leadership role.” She looks forward to returning to Lewis School in the 2025-2026 school year.
