Josey Wyatt appointed Carbondale Middle School Assistant Principal

Carbondale, IL – On Thursday, March 28th, 2024 the Carbondale Elementary School District #95 Board of Education unanimously approved the appointment of longtime district educator Josey Wyatt, as Carbondale Middle School’s Assistant Principal.

Born and raised in Marion, Illinois, Wyatt graduated from Marion High School and continued his college education at Shawnee Community College.  Later, Wyatt earned his Bachelor's in Elementary Education in 2010 and his Master's in Educational Administration in 2018.  Mr. Wyatt's family is dedicated to CES District #95, having two children enrolled in the district and a wife who teaches at Parrish Elementary.

With his diverse 15-year tenure in CES District #95, Wyatt has worked in a variety of grade levels and content areas, helping students find success by teaching 2nd and 3rd grade at Thomas Elementary and 6th through 8th grade at Carbondale Middle School. 

Wyatt's educational philosophy emphasizes building social-emotional skills to ensure students' academic success. He understands that student success is built upon strong relationships with families. He is committed to building and supporting systems to maximize those connections at Carbondale Middle School in the coming year. 

Wyatt is deeply committed to meeting students' needs and working with staff, parents, and community partners. He is excited to have the opportunity to share in the leadership at Carbondale Middle School to lead to future success. His enthusiasm and experience across the district will serve him well as he joins the leadership team at Carbondale Middle School in the 24-25 school year.
